Valencia Spain

Hello. Today, we stopped in lovely Valencia, Spain (Nov 22nd)

Valencia has a long and fascinating history dating back over 2,000 years. The Romans founded it in 138 BC as “Valentia.” Over the centuries, various civilizations ruled the city, including the Moors and the Christian Reconquista.

Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain, with wide beaches and a mix of architecture. We took the bus from the port for a thirty-minute ride to the historic area. The historic center features impressive landmarks such as the Valencia Cathedral, La Lonja de la Seda (Silk Exchange), and Torres de Serranos.

We walked around the city and enjoyed the sights. The city has lovely, wide beaches, which we could see from the ship. Overall, the city was clean, and the park through the city was nice.

The city portal is significant, and the old wooden doors are massive. The portal is elevated and surrounded by lower ramparts and today a park exists where one would believe a moat may have existed.

The church or basilica was beautiful and had a mixture of architecture.
