Our last stop on our transatlantic cruise is in San Juan PR USA. When we arrived in San Juan, the ship had to undergo customs inspection, and we had to immigrate into San Juan as part of the process.
Jim and I had a great tour at the Bacardi House (Casa de Barcardi) in San Juan PR. Our tour included a welcome drink, a tour of the local plant and a mixology class where we made two cocktails. The one cocktail was the Mojito, which most everyone has heard of. The second was the Jungle Bird. Campari, rum, pineapple juice and a bit of simple syrup, shaken till very cold. Both were very yummy.
Prior to our mixology class we had pork sliders and plantain fritters at the food stand at Bacardi House. They were both very good.
Giddy had an accident at the Bacardi House. Playing around on the rum barrels. He fell and broke his right foot. We had to carry him throughout the tour.
We keep telling Giddy, he is getting older and cannot do some of his antics any longer, and he hurts himself.
We made a beeline for the nearest drug store to get glue and back at the ship put him back together. I think he will need a full overhaul soon. Starting to really show his age.
On Thursday Dec 5th, we will join some friends from NY and PA for a trip to southern Leeward Antilles islands. – Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao on the Celebrity ship Eclipse in Fort Lauderdale.
Take Care for now.
