Travel with Giddy

Welcome to the world of travel! Traveling is an exhilarating and transformative experience that opens up new horizons, broadens your perspective on life.

Heading to Perth Australia

We missed the cyclone with our stop in Darwin.  After that we sailed for 3 days, and we visited a small city called Geraldton.

Nice town mostly a shipping port of iron ore, wheat and dry materials.  They had a nice walking path through town which was near the beach.

We, including Giddy had our toes in the sand and waters of the Indian Ocean.  The town is known for their Crawfish which we call lobster.   Giddy was eyeing his potential lunch meal at the local market.

We are sailing to Perth with arrival on Thursday Feb 29th.  We are heading out for a day of exploration with an afternoon tour to the desert and some star gazing with local star gazer group.

The meals were good, and excellent dinner service.  Our waiter Morgan and his assistant Stephen are excellent, and we appreciate their efforts during our cruise.  Their service has been fantastic, which has really made a difference in this cruise segment.  Morgan is a seasoned veteran of RCCL, and we have joked about the old times of flaming cherry jubilee and banana foster.  We will miss them since next week, when the wait staff does a rotation, and we will have new team.

We had a discussion with Morgan and our Head Waiter about why omelets were thin as pancakes.   We were trying to understand why breakfast dining room omelets were so different than the windjammer kitchen.  In turned out it was size of pan being used by the main dining room cooks to make the omelets.  A larger pan meant they could cook quicker.   Since then, the wait staff have been ensuring our omelets are made in an omelet pan.   Size or thickness in an omelet does make a huge difference in taste.

We have been enjoying the days at sea, by just relaxing and my daily mile walk around the boat.  The day passes quickly after breakfast, we skip or have a light lunch and then we need to get ready for dinner.  After dinner, we usually enjoy music by solo guitar player who plays wide range of songs from 60-80’s.  There is also a duo piano and violin players which are real easy to listen to.  We have not gone to any ship shows which we are being told were good.  By ten o’clock, we are heading back to cabin, to relax and sleep through the night.

Any way it is that time in the afternoon, I need to wrap up this post and get ready for dinner

Take Care

Jim
