Travel with Giddy

Welcome to the world of travel! Traveling is an exhilarating and transformative experience that opens up new horizons, broadens your perspective on life.

Breaking News – Giddy is ok.

On our trip back to Sydney from Brisbane on monday, Giddy wanted the soft-sided suitcase, he said it was more comfortable.  On arrival at hotel, Giddy was yelling for help.  Both of his legs were broken.  He blamed the Qantas Roo who was jumping up and down on his bag.

We made him comfortable and were able to find miracle cure – superglue.  We performed the delicate operation and left him rest for 24 hours.  Giddy is up and moving and joined us on some trips to Tarango Zoo, and Harbor cruise with lunch.

As Giddy rested after his operation we walked around the shore of Darling harbor through the Rocks area into Sydney harbor.  We had a nice lunch and walked back to hotel.

On Wednesday, (Jan 10)  we all went to Tarango Zoo which is one of the top 10 Zoos worldwide.  Covering 69 acres across from the city center, the zoo enjoys some great waterfront views of Sydney.  Founded in 1916, the Taronga Zoo is now home to over 4,000 animals from 350 species across its eight zoogeographic regions. Of course, you’ll see loads of native Australian wildlife here, including tree kangaroos, koalas, and emus. But the zoo also features some incredibly rare creatures from around the world, such as sun bears and endangered Sumatran tigers.  We travelled there via Uber and entered at top of the hillside zoo. We took the ferry back so we could walk down the zoo hillside and not back to the top. The Tasmania Devil is asleep in his den. See Images/Pictures for additional pictures.

Thursday, (Jan 11) we went to sky tower observation deck followed by harbor cruise lunch.  The views from the harbor cruise were fantastic.  At the sky tower, the clouds were low, but a great view.  Dinner we went to NOLA in Barangaroo for Sazerac’s, Brisket, salad and jalapeno Corn bread

Today, (Friday 12th) we boarded the Ovation of the Seas heading to Airlee Beach and Cairns for some sailing and snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. This will be home for the next 28 days as we sail to eastern Australia locations, Tasmania, and New Zealand.

Stay tuned for more adventures with Giddy
