Dublin has a rich history, and you can tell by the beautiful architecture and centuries-old pubs. I went on a walking tour and learned all about the famous writers like James Joyce and Oscar Wilde who called this place home. And of course, I had to go to the Guinness Storehouse because, let’s be honest, nothing says cultural immersion like getting a little tipsy at 11 AM in a brewery. I even tried to pour my own pint, and let me tell you, it’s not as easy as it looks. I ended up with more foam than beer, but hey, my inner artist came out. I call it the “Abstract Pint.”
The Guinness Storehouse contains seven unforgettable floors of sights, sounds and sensations in a building that has been brewing beer for over 250 years. Hopping with entertainment, this experience takes you on an immersive experience from grain to glass. From the artful brewing process to the iconic Guinness advertisements that have become pillars of Irish culture throughout the globe, there are so many special things to see. The 9,000 year lease signed and sealed in 1759 by Arthur Guinness himself is so impressive, it’s hard to find something even more special to top it.
Another key site to visit is the Jameson Distillery with a tour of the historic building, learn how their world-renowned whiskey is made and even blend some yourself at the Black Barrel Blending Class. Plan to make an afternoon of it with a cocktail in JJ’s Bar.
